Made up of hundreds of layered images from war zones and sites of terrorism from across the world, the viewer is led through a preset of images that point to a stereotypical and often misunderstood representation of places, that lie in various state of conflict and turmoil. While the contemporary moment, both historically and politically, influence the images that show up in an internet image search, repeated imagery of the military, police, barbed wire, bombed out buildings and dead bodies. In specific sites, some of these repetitive motifs are missing. The viewer is left to sort through the images and pull out recognizable figures, architecture, and patterns.
